Novel Ferment Process of D-Ribose

D-ribose was fermented with mutant strain of bacillus sublitis QG9704. The ferment yield reached to 65g/L or 50g/L ribose in shake flask or in small fermentor respectively. With the application of novel ion exchange resin, the fermentation flow through combination column and the separation yield of ribose increased 20-30%. The average yield of ribose reached 94% in pilot production. The ribose syrup produced by us has no colour and is transparent. Because no anilin was added in crystal process,low cost and high quality product can be obtained according with the standard of ajimiso.

"The novel porcess of ferment production D-ribose" was authenticated by State Ministry of Education in Aug. 1998. The technics was advanced and the product quality reached advanced level. The method, "Separation D-ribose from ferment liquid" is original in our state. The characteristics is high yield and good purity and crystal directly after concentration  and et al. The method has been applied to patent and the application code is 99113547.4 and the publish code is CN1234404A.

D-ribose can be used as intermediate of medicin or function food. Until now there is not large prduction in the state. The project has 100T ribose per year and production value is $8million and the profit is 30% and the investment estimated $2million. Any cooperation and transfer is welcomed. The D-ribose has been prepared as oral liquid and proved by Shanghai Prevent Medicine Academe to possess resist-ischemica and anti-fatigue function. Now we had applied it as health food.
